About
About me
As an artist and full time educator for over 3 decades, my life has been a journey deeply rooted in the belief that creativity is not just a practice but a way of being. Teaching art of various forms to students of all ages, I have come to realize that the most fulfilling part of my career is the ability to connect and share the transformative power of art with others. I have come to learn that each student brings their own perspectives, passions and challenges to the creative process. Whether through drawing, painting, photography, printmaking, textiles, craft or the tactile and meditative process of pottery, I am committed to fostering an environment where students can freely explore, express, and discover their own unique voice and artistic capabilities.
As I’ve evolved in my own practice, I’ve found pottery to be the medium that speaks to me most deeply. It is also the medium that my students have most fallen in love with. While wet, clay is forgiving in its ability to be pushed, pulled and continually reshaped. It can be used to create objects of two or three dimensions, decorative, sculptural, functional or a combination of all three. With the transformative power of heat and time, the objects become permanent. The capacity for creative expression is endless.
In 2024, when both of my daughters headed off to college, I began to ponder what my next personal creative adventure would be. I took the leap of creating a small, at-home studio. I still teach full time at The Meadowbrook School of Weston, but when my school day ends, I head to my studio and devote most of my time to my own personal work. When time allows, I offer private, semi-private and small group instruction in a more personal and flexible setting.
I remain committed to sharing my love of making with others and to the overall idea that art is for everyone. I look forward to welcoming you to my studio, sharing my work with you, introducing you to something new, and hopefully instilling in you a love for the creative process that stays with you long after you leave the studio.
